Arrive in Cusco (3,350m/10,990ft) where our staff be waiting at the airport with a sign with your name and private transport to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Cusco was the capital of the Empire of Incas from the 13th to 16th Century. This charming city became a UNESCO World Heritage in 1983. Relish in a wonderful lunch prepared from the farm to the table tasting the organic potatoes, crisp vegetables and meats. Then we continue to the town of Pisaq (2,960m/9,809ft). After lunch we will drive up the hill from town for a visit of the Pisac ruins (3,390m/11,122ft) and walk to the Sun Temple and the ceremonial grounds with fantastic views of the agricultural terraces built on the hilltop. Thereafter, we continue to your hotel located in Urubamba (2,910mt/9,549ft).

You will be met by the guide in your hotel and board private transport and drive to Piscacucho (2,663m/8,735ft.) Km 82. Here, we meet with our porters and show our Inca trail permits at the checkpoint. We will walk alongside the Urubamba River with views of the snow-capped peaks before passing over the ruins of Llaqtapata. There our guide will provide the history of the archeological site while you enjoy a cold drink of Gatorade, bottled water, coca cola or a fruit drink served in a glass accompanied by some snacks. Thereafter, you will walk about 1 hour to an open area to have a delightful lunch prepared by our professional chef. Unwind and relax in a comfortable chair at the dining table with table linen, flatware, and glasses for your drink of choice. The masseuse will come and provide a quick massage while the chef prepares your gourmet lunch of meat, fish or chicken. Taste the fresh vegetables, grains, potatoes that accompany the main plate. Afterwards, we will have time to digest and enjoy the views before continuing our hike to our first campsite at Huayllabamba (2,928mt/9,606ft) which is short distance from the other busy campsites. Take a hot shower in the shower tent and after a full soothing massage to ease the sore muscles. Wake up this morning with a hot tea brought to your tent. See the sunrise over the mountains, while you enjoy a delicious breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, quinoa, or oatmeal cereals, scrambled eggs, omelets, potatoes, bacon, pancakes, hot tea, hot coffee, hot chocolate. Today will be the most demanding part of the Inca trail to Machu Pichhu. Climb up to Llulluchapampa where the hike becomes truly spectacular with scenery that more than compensates for the effort. There our staff sets up for lunch surrounded by spectacular vistas. After lunch we continue our climb to reach the top of the main pass. Vegetation thins and the temperature gets colder on the approach to the highest point of the trail – Warmiwañusqa Pass (4,236m/13,894ft) where you will see the Huayllanay Glacier, weather permitting.
Thereafter, we descend down to the lovely Pacaymayo Valley (3,526mt/11,566ft), our next campsite. Here the vegetation is green and we will see part of the Urubamba Mountain Range and some bird species. Relax by taking a hot shower and then take pleasure in a therapeutic massage. The chef and waiter will have the dining room ready for your feast. Sleep under the stars.

Continue our final climb to the Runkurakay pass (3,670mt/12,598ft) to see the breathtaking mountain range. Thereafter, we start walking downwards to reach the Sayacmarca Inca Ruins (3,600mt/11,811ft.) to eat lunch nearby. Later we will walk through the stunning scenic cloud forest with many colorful birds, orchids and more, until reaching Phuyupatamarca (Town of clouds) (3,630mt/11,909ft). From here catch wonderful vistas of the Salkantay Mountain. Walk observing the Phuyupatamarca Ruins, a sophisticated sacred complex made up of water fountains with solid foundations. Our campsite is located near the ruins. This is our last night camping in the peaceful wilderness with our staff. We will have a farewell feast and toast drinks. Then rest in your cozy sleeping quarters.

Then we’ll say goodbye to our porters as they transport the equipment back to Cusco. Thereafter, we will begin our long walk down about 2,000 stone steps to Wiñay Wayna (“forever young”, 2,650m-8,692ft). We will visit Wiñay Wayna an Inca site with upper and lower house clusters and many agricultural terraces or the Intipata Ruins, place of the sun, before continuing our hike up along a trail of flat stones to IntiPunku. Arriving there (“sun gate”), we’ll pause to rest with plenty of time to photograph the first overview of the Sacred Machu Picchu one of the seven wonders of the world. From Intipunku, it’s a short hike down to the magical Sanctuary´s entrance (2,400mt/7,874ft) where we will stay in the Sanctuary Lodge or take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to spend the night.

This four-hour tour offers a unique blend of Incan and colonial architecture, archaeology, history and culture. Our tour takes place in downtown Cusco (3,350m/10,990ft), with visits to the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas with its outstanding collection of colonial art; considered the best repository of colonial art from the Cusco school. Then stroll the cobble stoned streets to Qoricancha, Temple of the Sun, a spiritual center of the Inca Empire. We will drive above Cusco for a visit of the immense Sacred Temple of Sacsayhuaman. Some sections of this place were first built by the pre-Inca Killke Culture around 1100. Continue to the Inca sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucara (Red Fort), and Tambomachay where fountains built by the Incas capture the waters of a natural spring.
Return to Cusco to pick your luggage and private transfer to the airport to fly to Lima and connect your international flight.
