Day 3 Fly to Cusco the ancient empire of the Incas – Lunch at Sarapampa Hacienda – Sacred Valley where the elevation is lower
This morning after breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Arrive in Cusco (3,350m/10,990ft) where our staff be waiting at the airport with a sign with your name and private transport to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Cusco was the capital of the Empire of Incas and this charming city became a UNESCO World Heritage in 1983. On the way we stop to visit Awanacancha a place where you will see alpacas, llamas and vicuñas. Our delicious lunch will be at the Hacienda Sarapampa tucked away in Taray surrounded by the mystical mountains. Today we will be introduced to the large white corn grown only in the Sacred Valley which helps the economy of the local people. Relish in a wonderful lunch prepared from the farm to the table tasting the organic potatoes, crisp vegetables and meats.Then we continue to the town of Pisaq (2,960m/9,809ft) to have our lunch. After lunch we will drive up the hill from town for a visit of the Pisac ruins (3,390m/11,122ft) and walk to the Sun Temple and the ceremonial grounds with fantastic views of the agricultural terraces built on the hilltop. Thereafter, we continue to your hotel located in Urubamba (2,910mt/9,549ft).

Day 4 Ollantaytambo Inca Town – Peruvian Paso Horse Show – Moray Circular Depressions – Maras Salt Ponds
We will drive to one of the original Inca towns of Ollantaytambo (2,792m/9,160ft) once a royal estate to the Inca Pachacutec. The ruins were built on the side of the mountain facing town. Be pleased with the quaint town that has water canals running along the homes. Tour the many structures such as the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Hall and El Baño de la Princesa (Princess Bath). Then visit a local´s home where you will observe the guinea pigs with a chance to feed them and learn of their traditions. Drive to the town of Urubamba to have lunch in the Wayra Restaurant where lunch is served in the outdoor terrace. Be entertained while you feast on your meal watching a Peruvian Paso Horse show. After lunch will visit Moray (3,500m/11482ft) the circular depressions believed to have been used by the Incas to test plants in different temperatures. Then drive on a dirt trail down to the white salt ponds below (3,180m/10,433ft). There are about 3,000 wells which are left to evaporate and are gathered by hand without any machinery. Return to your hotel.

Day 5 Hike the best leg of the Inca Trail km104 to Machu Picchu
Our guide will meet you in your hotel very early in the morning and drive to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the Vistadome train to Chachabamba at Km 104. We start our fabulous crossing the Urubamba River to visit one of the Inca archeological sites of Chachabamba that was discovered in 1940 – almost thirty years after Hiram Bingham rediscovered Machu Picchu. Afterwards, we will continue with a gradual climb walking on Inca steps for about 3 to 4 hours until we reach the cloud forest. Hike through lush vegetation until reaching the meadows. Thereafter, we hike to Wiñay Wayna (“forever young”, 2,650mt-8,692ft). This site was an important administrative and agricultural center for the Incas. Enjoy a box lunch here whilst taking in the lovely views of the many terraces. After lunch we continue hiking towards the cloud forest until we reach Sungate (Inti Punku) to catch stunning vistas of Machu Picchu below. You will have plenty of time for pictures before walking down to Machu Picchu (2,400mt- 7,874ft). Take a side trail and ride the bus down to Machu Picchu Village to spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Stroll to the extraordinary Temple of the Sun with exceptionally carved stones, The Sacred Plaza with the Temple of the Three Windows which features the huge trapezoidal windows. Walk up to the Intihuatana the solar clock and finally visit the temple of the Condor. Today we will leave for the Cusco airport, fly to Lima and connect to your flight to Iquitos. Arrive in the afternoon and our staff will be waiting to take you to the ship. Our crew will be expecting your arrival at the airport, then transfer all together in our comfortable private vehicle. We will start you off with a lunchbox as we begin the journey to Nauta.
Once we reach Nauta, you will enjoy a VIP greeting at our private port along the shores of the Marañon River where the vessel awaits you.
Aboard Delfin, you will be served by our qualified staff who will introduce you to your exquisite and cozy suite, specially equipped with all the amenities for the experienced traveler as yourself like air conditioning and private bathroom.
While the Delfin begins its initial navigation, you will enjoy the most fantastic panoramic views from the elegantly outfitted observation area located on our third deck. Aboard Delfin, you will be served by our qualified staff who will introduce you to your exquisite and cozy suite, specially equipped with all the amenities for the experienced traveler as yourself like air conditioning and private bathroom.
While the Delfin begins its initial navigation, you will enjoy the most fantastic panoramic views from the elegantly outfitted observation area located on our third deck. Our bartender will be waiting to serve you with an exotic cocktail made with regional fruits and pisco, the beloved national brandy liquor of Peru. Then, your naturalist guide will give you an overview of your journey’s schedule, activities, route, highlights, wildlife and vegetation to keep your eye out for, geographical and historical background, and other useful details.
The third deck features an entertainment center which offers use for film presentations, as well as extensive literature about the area (fauna, flora, etc.)

Day 9 Cusco – Voyage Iquitos Luxury Delfin I – 4D/3N (Departs on Mondays)
Itineraries vary based on whether the travel dates fall in the high water/rainy season or low water/dry season. If Delfin I is not available for your dates we could replace with another luxury cruiser.
Today we will leave for the Cusco airport, fly to Lima and connect to your flight to Iquitos. Arrive in the afternoon and our staff will be waiting to take you to the ship. Day 10 Cruising through the Amazon River to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
AM: Fundo Casual, On your first morning with us, we recommend getting up early to appreciate one of the most important zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Never does nature seem more bountiful than in the tropics, and early rising is always rewarding since wildlife is most abundant and active with the rising of the sun.The walk at Fundo Casual jungle trail will take you deep into the rainforest on “terra firma” (non-flooded forest) where your guide will point out the dynamic creatures and vegetation of the Amazon. Be sure to keep an attentive eye open for spotting surprises!
This village of 500 people, although not very many miles from the bigger town of Nauta in miles, is still quite removed when you have to go by canoe from place to place. On your visit to this community we will be welcomed by smiling faces and friendly people. Around the community, people who are happy to show you the process of peeling and grating cassava, while another may invite you in for a look at the tools he uses to process the rice (grown locally). A day in the life of a local ribereño is eye-opening to how far we have come in this day and age and a reflection of how simple yet rewarding life is for others.

This is a unique opportunity; you will get to the only Canopy Walkway in this area, an experience unequaled in the rainforest! At a height of over 25 meters (85 feet) and extending for 500 meters (one-third of a mile), the Canopy Walkway provides a view of the rainforest from the treetops, the best vantage point for observing Amazon wildlife and vegetation. The Canopy Walkway is accessible to all and requires no special skills or equipment. You will enjoy “Terra Firma” forest and you will be able to see the differences between your previous hike and this one.
Yanayacu Pucate: This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guide will use his expert eye to pinpoint all the biodiversity of this region. If you want to interact directly with the waters of the Amazon, go out on one of our paddle boards. You will even have the opportunity to swim in the jungle river along with the famous pink dolphins!

As well, there are also some other animals cared for by the center that have been rescued from capture for the intention of being turned into pets and other threatening conditions. Our land personnel will wait for you at the airport and give your boarding passes and help you check in.
Our staff will be on hand to help you with your luggage and check in at the Airport in Iquitos. The return flight will take you directly to the city of Lima, the capital of Peru. With heavy hearts, the staff will wish you farewell as you begin your departure. At the port of Nauta, our ground crew will be waiting to take you by our private vehicle back to the city of Iquitos, about 95 kilometers journey by paved road.
On our way from Nauta back to Iquitos airport, you will visit the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (ACOBIA) where you will have the chance to meet baby manatees and learn about these wonderful and docile creatures and why they are on the endangered species list.
